Item Description
A beautiful vintage Japanese porcelain tea set comprised of one teapot and three cups with green glazed exterior, and hand brushed blue-and-white geometric floral pattern (featured along the inner rim of the three matching cups). The teapot is a good medium size, light and balanced when held by its bent-cane handle, and the lid fits nicely. There is a porcelain ball filter within the pot to prevent tea leaves from entering the teacups when the tea liquid is poured from the pot. The porcelain of the cups is thin enough to allow light to pass through them when held up to a light source.
This tea set is perfectly suited for all types of tea, and would have traditionally been used to served Japanese teas such as 煎茶 sencha, ほうじ茶 hōjicha, and 玄米茶 genmaicha.
There is no evidence of extensive use by its previous owner, no tea stains, cracks, or chips. Please refer to the pictures for additional details.
